Honey, you've been in my head like homework on Sundays when I'd be laughing instead

It never ceases to amaze me that on a Sunday night, no matter how long the line is at Starbucks, we always find a cozy table for 2 upstairs, light shining down upon it. I swear I hear angelic voices singing in the background.

When I met TX, it looked down at me and threw back its head and laughed, one of those deep, gut-shaking, no-holds-barred howls of laughter as it bent down to ruffle my hair. All I could do was blink in the bright sunshine and stare up in open curiosity. Then, pushing hands against knees and straightening back up, the Lone Star State simply said, "I like this one. She's a keeper," and strolled off casually to find a cold one in the shade.

Texas had the biggest smile I'd ever seen: an eyeful of teeth that could have swallowed the world, but surprisingly didn't want to do me in--just grow me up.

I always loved that contagious smile.
